Chris Long - Master's student
Analyzing how bioreactors may help mitigate environmental pollution caused by agricultural land uses.

Picture
Darrin Ambat - Master's student
Darrin is studying the effects of ocean acidification on bluebanded goby (Lythrypnus dalli) reproductive behavior using both laboratory and field mesocosm experiments. He implements this mesocosm design using our lab's benthic chambers while on SCUBA.

Karina Arzuyan - Master's student
Karina is studying the algal-algal interactions between rhodoliths (Lithothamnion australe) and rhodolith-associated macroalgae found at Santa Catalina Island, CA, and how these associations may shift given predicted ocean acidification conditions.

Leslie Booher - Master's student
Leslie is currently researching the bioremediation application of Ulva lactuca to uptake organic pollutants, heavy metals, and PCBs from San Diego Bay.

Mitch Johnson - Master's student
Mitch is studying the effects of ocean acidification on California Spiny Lobster's (Panulirus interruptus) chemoreception and their ability to locate mates and forage for food.

Abigail Ryder - Master's student (Co-advised by Dr. Walter Oechel)
Abby's research is focused on the carbon flux and productivity of eelgrass meadows in San Diego Bay.

Jessica Weidenfeld - Master's student (Co-advised by Dr. Brian Hentschel)
Jessica is currently pursuing her Master's degree and is interested in researching land-based, multi-trophic aquaculture systems.
Tallulah Winquist - PhD student
Tallulah is in the research phase having just begun the program.
