Brayden Wiley
Brayden recently joined our lab and spends his time working on seaweed tank maintenance along with diving at the seaweed farm in the Port of San Diego. He is interested in aquaculture and combatting climate change through bioremediation. Currently, he is a NSF-funded REU with the USC Wrigley Institute working with Master’s Candidate, Darrin Ambat, on Catalina Island studying the effects ocean acidification has on Bluebanded Goby reproduction. Specifically, he is conducting an independent research project examining the effects of ocean acidification on their aerobic scope. |
Jordan Mann
Jordan first joined our lab in 2019 as a volunteer working on a collaborative SeaGrant-funded project investigating how human disturbance affects productivity and respiration in rhodolith beds on Catalina Island, California. Jordan conducted data retrieval from subsamples obtained from Catalina Island to quantify invertebrate community composition within both undisturbed and human-disturbed rhodolith bed communities. She also aids in scientific diving to help graduate students conduct their research.
