Our most recent research efforts are working on phycoremediation in San Diego Bay, CA. In collaboration with Sunken Seaweed and funding from the Port of San Diego, our lab utilizes Ulva lactuca as a bioremediation tool to uptake pollutants such as heavy metals and PCBs from San Diego Bay. Check out the current state of our research here!

From 2018 thru 2020 our lab worked on Santa Catalina Island, CA estimating whether disturbance affects productivity and respiration in rhodolith beds. This project is part of a two-year CA SeaGrant funded collaboration with Dr. Diana Steller at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories

The Edwards Lab, in collaboration with the Konar Lab, headed to the Aleutian Islands for the summer of 2016 and 2017.
